We just wanted to add in our 2 cents about what was the best album of the year, and the honor obviously goes to one of our favorite bands Animal Collective! This album is phenomenal. If you are not used to Animal Collective listen to this album a couple times before you write it off, sometimes it takes people a little time before they see Animal Collectives' true beauty. Every song on this album is pretty much the most creative and beautiful thing you could ever do yourself the honor of listening too. Our favorite tracks on the album however are summertime clothes (if you haven't danced around to this song in warm weather at some point in your life TRY IT) and Brother Sport, which is actually the coolest music video we have ever seen. So if you were unfortunate enough to go through 2009 without this glorious album, stay calm and just make up for lost time by listening to it non stop.
I highly dislike Animal Collective and the definitely did not make the best record of the year.

It's like the Family Guy episode where Peter and Lois are really high and perform at the local talent show; they think they did an awesome job but in reality they were yelling and making odd sounds bc they were too fucked up.
Yup. That's Animal Collective for you.
Best album of 2009 was definitely Britney Spears "Circus." Instant Britney classic, one of the best pop records of the decade.
